For blogs hosted on WordPress.com - including the free and Personal plans without plugins. Articles appear as posts with title, text, featured image, categories, tags, excerpt and SEO description.

What you need for WordPress.com

  • A blog on WordPress.com and the account that owns it (or an account with the "Editor" or "Administrator" role).

Step by step: connect WordPress.com

  1. In Blog Automation: Websites & blogs → Connect website → WordPress.com.
  2. Click Connect with WordPress.com, sign in and pick the blog Blog Automation may publish to.
  3. Back in Blog Automation choose status, default category and language, then click Save blog.
  4. Only if the page asks for a Client ID and Client Secret instead: create your own app at developer.wordpress.com/apps via Create New Application (type "Web", copy the redirect URL from the page) and enter the two values.

Tips for WordPress.com

  • The approval always covers just the one blog you picked. Connect further blogs one by one.
  • WordPress.com sites on the Business plan with plugins can also be connected like a normal WordPress site.

Good to know about WordPress.com

  • Reconnecting only accepts the same blog as before.
  • The meta description only shows if your plan supports SEO settings.
