Integration
Connect Ghost to Blog Automation
Articles appear as posts on your Ghost blog - with title, text, feature image, tags, excerpt and meta data. Works with ghost.org and self-hosted Ghost.
What you need for Ghost
- A Ghost site (Ghost(Pro) or self-hosted) on HTTPS.
- Administrator or owner access, so you can add a custom integration.
Step by step: connect Ghost
- Open your Ghost dashboard → Settings (gear icon) → Integrations.
- Click Add custom integration and name it, for example, "Blog Automation".
- Copy the integration’s Admin API Key and API URL.
- In Blog Automation: Websites & blogs → Connect website → Ghost. Paste both values and click Check connection.
- Choose status, default tag and language, then click Save blog.
Where do I find what in Ghost?
| Field in Blog Automation | Where to find it in Ghost |
|---|---|
| Address of the Ghost site (API URL) | Shown on the integration as "API URL", e.g. https://your-blog.ghost.io. |
| Admin API key | Shown on the integration as "Admin API Key", in the form id:secret (colon in the middle). Not the "Content API Key". |
What is transferred to Ghost?
Title → title, slug → post URL (on creation only), article text → content (as HTML; custom code goes into one HTML card), cover image → feature image (uploaded to Ghost), tags and category → tags, summary → excerpt, SEO title and meta description → meta data.
Tips for Ghost
- With the status "Save as draft" articles land under Posts → Drafts and you publish them yourself in Ghost.
Good to know about Ghost
- Blog Automation does not send a Ghost newsletter - the post is only published on the site.
- A post’s address (slug) is not changed after it was first published.

Frequently asked questions about Ghost
"Ghost rejects the Admin API key"
Usually the Content API key was copied instead of the Admin API key, or the integration was deleted. Copy the Admin API key again.
"No Ghost Admin API was found at this address"
Enter exactly the integration’s API URL. With a custom domain this is often the …ghost.io address or your domain without /ghost.
