Connect WordPress to Blog Automation

Blog Automation publishes articles as WordPress posts - with title, text, featured image, category, tags and, if Yoast SEO or Rank Math is installed, SEO title and meta description.

What you need for WordPress

  • A WordPress site running version 5.6 or later, reachable over HTTPS.
  • A WordPress user with the "Editor" or "Administrator" role.

Step by step: connect WordPress

  1. In Blog Automation open Websites & blogs → Connect website and choose WordPress.
  2. Enter your site’s address (e.g. https://www.your-company.com) and click Connect with WordPress.
  3. Sign in to WordPress as usual and click Yes, I approve of this connection. WordPress then creates an application password for Blog Automation.
  4. Back in Blog Automation you see the check (rights, categories, SEO plugin). Choose status, default category and language, then click Save website.

Tips for WordPress

  • Create a dedicated WordPress user with the "Editor" role for Blog Automation - that way you can see at a glance which posts came from us.
  • Settings, the visitor counter and troubleshooting are covered in detail under WordPress websites.

Good to know about WordPress

  • With the "Contributor" role Blog Automation can only submit drafts.
  • Blogs on WordPress.com without plugins are connected via WordPress.com, not here.

More in the official WordPress documentation (external link). Everything about the free plugin and the connection without a plugin is on the page WordPress integration.

Often a security plugin blocks the REST API or application passwords, or the host strips the "Authorization" header. See WordPress websites for fixes.

Does Blog Automation see my WordPress password?

No. You sign in to WordPress directly; we only receive the application password, which you can revoke at any time under Users → Profile → Application Passwords.
