For online shops
Buying guides and how-tos for your online shop, regular and reviewed
Good guides reach customers before they buy. Blog Automation writes buying guides, how-tos and comparisons in your brand voice and publishes them to your shop's WordPress blog after your approval.
Content that helps people buy
Product pages say what an item can do. A blog answers the questions before and after: which product suits me, how do I use it properly, how do I look after it? This kind of content gets searched for, linked and shared, and it shows that your team knows its stuff.
With Blog Automation the AI writes the drafts, your team adds experience from customer service and buying and approves them. With the idea board and keyword lists you keep track of topics for the whole season.
Typical uses
- Buying guides: which size, which material, which model for which purpose?
- How-tos and care: assembly, use, cleaning and storage of your products.
- Seasons and occasions: gift ideas, start of the season, promotions you plan yourself.
- Comparisons: materials or product types side by side, factual and transparent.
Example topics
- Breaking in hiking boots
- Merino or synthetic? A comparison
- Leather shoe care step by step
- Gift ideas for outdoor fans
- Finding the right size: how to measure
Does my shop system work?
Blog Automation publishes to WordPress only (version 5.6 or later, with HTTPS). That works if your shop runs on WooCommerce on WordPress, or if you run a WordPress blog next to your shop, for example on its own subdomain. Shopify, Shopware, Wix and other systems are not supported directly.
What to watch out for
- Make advertising recognisable: posts recommending your own products are advertising. Under German competition law (UWG) the commercial purpose must not be hidden.
- Provable claims: "test winner", "the best" or comparisons with competitors need evidence. Do not let the AI's wording through unchecked.
- Prices: prices shown to consumers fall under the German Price Indication Ordinance. Prices in posts go out of date quickly, so link to the product page instead.
- Food, supplements, cosmetics: health-related claims are tightly regulated, for example by the EU Health Claims Regulation. Review these posts with particular care.
- Other brands: mention other manufacturers' brands factually and only as far as needed.
This is not legal advice.
How Blog Automation helps
- Fixed dates: plan posts to match season and range in the content calendar.
- SEO suggestions: the AI suggests title, description, slug and tags, you decide.
- Featured images: if you like, the AI creates a featured image. For product photos your own pictures are the better choice.
- Several shops: in the Pro plan you connect up to 5 WordPress websites, each with its own calendar colour.
Frequently asked questions
Can Blog Automation write product descriptions?
Blog Automation is built for blog posts and publishes them to WordPress. It does not edit product descriptions in WooCommerce. It is made for guides that link to your products.
Does it work with Shopify?
Not directly. Blog Automation publishes to WordPress only. If you run a WordPress blog next to your Shopify shop, you can connect that.
