Integration

Connect Blogger to Blog Automation

Articles appear as posts on your Blogger blog (blogspot.com or your own domain) - with title, text, labels, search description and the cover image at the top of the post.

What you need for Blogger

  • A Google account that owns the blog or is an admin or author of it.
  • At least one blog on blogger.com.

Step by step: connect Blogger

  1. In Blog Automation: Websites & blogs → Connect website → Blogger.
  2. Click Connect with Google, pick your Google account and allow Blog Automation to manage your Blogger posts.
  3. Back in Blog Automation choose the blog, status, default category and language, then click Save blog.
  4. Only if the page asks for a Client ID and Client secret instead: follow the "how to get the 2 values" guide there (your own client in the Google Cloud Console with the Blogger API v3).

Where do I find what in Blogger?

Field in Blog AutomationWhere to find it in Blogger
Client IDOwn Google client only: Google Cloud Console → Google Auth Platform → Clients. Ends in .apps.googleusercontent.com.
Client secretOwn Google client only: shown once when you create the client.

What is transferred to Blogger?

Title → title, article text → content, tags and category → labels (20 at most), cover image → picture at the very top of the post, meta description → search description (up to 150 characters). Blogger derives the address and page title from the title itself.

Tips for Blogger

  • With your own Google client, make sure to click Publish app under "Audience" - otherwise the connection expires after 7 days.

Good to know about Blogger

  • Blogger has no featured-image field, so the cover image sits at the start of the text.
  • The search description only shows if it is switched on in Blogger under Settings → Meta tags.
