Connect Wix to Blog Automation
Articles appear as posts in your site’s Wix Blog - with title, formatted text, cover image, categories, tags, excerpt and SEO settings.
What you need for Wix
- A Wix site with the Wix Blog app.
- Access to the Wix account that owns the site (for the API key).
- At least one site member who can be set as author - yourself, for example.
Step by step: connect Wix
- In Wix open Account settings → API Keys (manage.wix.com/account/api-keys) and click Generate API Key.
- Name the key and grant it, for your site, the permissions Wix Blog, Ricos, Media Manager and Members.
- Wix e-mails you a 6-digit code - enter it. Then copy the key (it starts with
IST.). - Open the site’s dashboard and copy the site ID from the address bar.
- In Blog Automation: Websites & blogs → Connect website → Wix. Paste address, site ID and key, then click Check connection.
- Choose the author (a site member), status and language, then click Save blog.
Where do I find what in Wix?
| Field in Blog Automation | Where to find it in Wix |
|---|---|
| Website address | The public address of your Wix site, e.g. https://www.your-site.com. |
| Site ID | In the dashboard address after /dashboard/ (36 characters, format xxxxxxxx-xxxx-…). |
| API key | Wix account → Account settings → API Keys. Shown only once. |
What is transferred to Wix?
Title → title, slug → URL (on creation only), article text → content (converted into Wix’s format), summary → excerpt, cover image → cover image (imported into the Media Manager), category and tags → matching Wix categories, everything else as tags, SEO title and meta description → the post’s SEO settings.
Tips for Wix
- If no author is available, add yourself as a member in the Wix dashboard under Contacts → Site Members and check again.
Good to know about Wix
- Wix accepts at most 10 categories per post.
- A post’s URL is not changed after it was first published.
