Integration
Connect BigCommerce to Blog Automation
Articles appear as posts on your BigCommerce store’s blog - with title, text, cover image at the top, tags, author and meta description.
What you need for BigCommerce
- A BigCommerce store with the blog enabled.
- Store owner access, or a user allowed to create API accounts.
Step by step: connect BigCommerce
- Open the BigCommerce control panel → Settings → API → Store-level API accounts → Create API account.
- Set Content to modify and Information & Settings to read-only, everything else to none, then save.
- Copy the access token and API path - the token is shown only once.
- In Blog Automation: Websites & blogs → Connect website → BigCommerce. Paste the values and click Check connection.
- Choose author, status and language, then click Save blog.
Where do I find what in BigCommerce?
| Field in Blog Automation | Where to find it in BigCommerce |
|---|---|
| Store hash or API path | Part of the API path https://api.bigcommerce.com/stores/<store-hash>/v3/ - paste the whole path or just the hash. |
| Access token | Shown once when the API account is created (also in the downloaded text file). |
What is transferred to BigCommerce?
Title → title, slug → URL /blog/<slug>/ (on creation only), article text → body, cover image → picture at the top of the body, tags → tags and meta keywords, meta description → meta description, author → author (empty = store name).
Tips for BigCommerce
- With the status "Save as draft" you publish posts yourself under Storefront → Blog.
Good to know about BigCommerce
- BigCommerce has no separate SEO title for blog posts - the post title is used.
- The thumbnail field only accepts files from the store’s WebDAV, so the cover image is placed at the start of the text.

Frequently asked questions about BigCommerce
"The BigCommerce API account is missing permissions"
Set "Content" to "modify" and "Information & Settings" to "read-only" on the API account. You can edit an existing account; the token stays the same.
"This BigCommerce store or post does not exist"
Check the store hash - it is the short code in the API path, not the store’s name.
