Integration
Connect Webflow to Blog Automation
Articles become items in a CMS collection of your Webflow site (e.g. "Blog Posts") - with name, slug and the fields you map once: text, image, summary, SEO title, meta description.
What you need for Webflow
- A Webflow site that uses the CMS.
- A CMS collection with name, slug and a rich text field for the article; an image field is recommended.
- Permission to generate API tokens in the site settings.
Step by step: connect Webflow
- In Webflow open Site settings → Apps & integrations → API access and click Generate API token.
- Grant CMS: Read and write and Sites: Read, then copy the token.
- In Blog Automation: Websites & blogs → Connect website → Webflow. Paste the token and click Check connection.
- Choose the collection and, under Map fields, assign article text, cover image, summary, SEO title and meta description.
- Choose status and language, then click Save blog.
- Publish your Webflow site at least once (Publish); until then articles can only arrive as drafts.
Where do I find what in Webflow?
| Field in Blog Automation | Where to find it in Webflow |
|---|---|
| Site API token | Webflow → Site settings → Apps & integrations → API access → "Generate API token". Valid for this one site only. |
What is transferred to Webflow?
The collection’s name and slug always receive the article’s title and address. Article text → a rich text field, cover image → an image field, summary, SEO title and meta description → plain or rich text fields. Anything you leave unmapped is not transferred.
Tips for Webflow
- Required collection fields that are not mapped show up as a warning in the connection check - map them or make them optional in Webflow.
Good to know about Webflow
- Live publishing only works once the Webflow site has been published - until then articles go in as drafts.
- Tags and categories are not transferred (in Webflow they are reference fields).
- The cover image is passed as a link; Webflow downloads it itself.
