Where do I find what in Shopify?
| Field in Blog Automation | Where to find it in Shopify |
|---|---|
| Shopify address | The your-store.myshopify.com address - the link from the Shopify admin works too. |
| Client ID | Dev Dashboard → your app → Settings. |
| Client secret | Dev Dashboard → your app → Settings. |
| Admin API access token | Only for apps created in the Shopify admin before 2026: Settings → Apps → App development → app → API credentials. Starts with shpat_. |
What is transferred to Shopify?
Title → title, slug → handle (on creation only), article text → content, summary → excerpt, cover image → image with alt text, tags and category → tags, author → author (empty = store name), SEO title and meta description → the post’s search engine listing.
Tips for Shopify
- If you still have an older app created in the Shopify admin, choose "Access token of an app in the Shopify admin" and paste its
shpat_…token.
Good to know about Shopify
- Since 2026 new apps can no longer be created in the Shopify admin - use the Dev Dashboard instead.
- A post’s address (handle) is not changed after it was first published.
- Drafts arrive as hidden posts.

Add read_content and write_content to the app version, release it and reinstall the app.
