Connect Storyblok to Blog Automation

Articles become stories in your Storyblok space - with the story’s name, slug and tags, plus text, summary, image and date in the fields of your content type. Drafts and publishing both work.

What you need for Storyblok

  • A Storyblok space.
  • A content type (a component marked "Content type") with a rich text field. The default "page" type of a new space only has blocks - create e.g. "article".

Step by step: connect Storyblok

  1. In the Block Library create a new block of type Content type, e.g. "article", with the fields title (Text), body (Richtext), excerpt (Textarea), image (Asset) and date (Date/Time).
  2. Open My account → Personal access tokens → Generate new token and copy the token.
  3. The space ID is under Settings → Space (digits only).
  4. In Blog Automation: Websites & blogs → Connect website → Storyblok. Enter region, space ID and token, then click Check connection.
  5. Choose the content type, map the fields, optionally a folder ID, then status and language, and click Save.

Tips for Storyblok

  • Create a "blog" folder and enter its ID - all articles then sit neatly under /blog/.

Good to know about Storyblok

  • The default "page" content type is not suitable because it has no rich text.
  • The personal access token works for every space in your account - handle it with care.
