Connect TYPO3 to Blog Automation
Articles appear in TYPO3 12 or 13 as news records of the "News" extension - with image, teaser, categories, tags, path segment, SEO title and meta description.
What you need for TYPO3
- TYPO3 12 or 13 in Composer mode on HTTPS.
- The extensions "News" (
georgringer/news) and "Blog Automation" (shsoftwaresolution/blog-automation). - A storage folder for the news and administrator access.
Step by step: connect TYPO3
- Install the extensions
georgringer/newsandshsoftwaresolution/blog-automationwith Composer and activate them. - In Blog Automation: Websites & blogs → Connect website → TYPO3. Copy the connection key shown.
- Paste it in TYPO3 under Admin Tools → Settings → Extension Configuration → blog_automation and save.
- Enter the address and click Check connection.
- Choose the news folder, status, default category and language, then click Save blog.
Where do I find what in TYPO3?

What is transferred to TYPO3?
Title → title, slug → path segment (unique per folder), article text → text, summary → teaser, cover image → image (in fileadmin/blog_automation/), category → system category of the same name, tags → news tags (missing ones are created), SEO title → alternative title, meta description → description.
Tips for TYPO3
- Set the news detail page in the extension configuration - Blog Automation can then link straight to the finished articles.
Good to know about TYPO3
- Without the "News" extension the connection is not possible.
- Drafts are hidden news records.
- TYPO3 12 has not yet been tested against a real installation (TYPO3 13 has).
Frequently asked questions about TYPO3
"The TYPO3 extension "Blog Automation" does not answer at this address"
Check that the extension is installed and active, and that the address is exactly the site’s home page.
"TYPO3 rejects the connection key"
The key in the extension configuration differs. Copy it again from Blog Automation and save in TYPO3.
"There is no place for news yet"
Create a folder (page type "Folder") for the news in TYPO3 and check again.
